Source:NTT, Inc. / Mitsubishi Materials Corporation (joint news release, 3 June 2026)
On 3 June 2026, NTT and Mitsubishi Materials announced the establishment of a new company, NTT Circurust, which integrates the collection of end-of-life IT equipment and telecommunications infrastructure, resource recovery, the production and sale of recycled materials, and the communication of attribute information on those materials. The company was scheduled to be established on 1 July 2026. The company will build a system for sharing information such as the origin and environmental impact of recycled materials across the supply chain, and envisages expanding it to other materials and industries in the future.
Editor's View

This is not simply a recycling business, but a business model that connects the circulation of materials with the circulation of information. For manufacturers, procuring recycled materials increasingly requires managing not only the percentage used but also attribute data such as origin, allocation and environmental impact across the supply chain; in the circular economy, the flow of resources and the flow of data become objects of design at the same time.
