[Supply Chain] Bridgestone Expands Farm-Level Traceability of Natural Rubber to 42% — Strengthening Geographic Data Management for EUDR Compliance

Source:Bridgestone Sustainability Report
Bridgestone is strengthening traceability across its natural rubber supply chain, including in preparation for the EUDR. According to the company's 2025 Integrated Report, farm-level traceability reached 42% as of the end of 2024, achieved with the use of satellite imagery, geo-mapping and cloud-based data management. In preparation for the EUDR, the company is also working with suppliers on upstream plantation risk assessment, plantation boundary mapping, documentary audits and verification. We note that the phrase "100% farm-level traceability by 2027" does not match the primary source: the company's 2027 target, as stated, is 100% traceability at the district level, which should be distinguished from the farm level.
Editor's View

EUDR compliance requires managing natural rubber not merely at the level of individual suppliers, but with visibility into the location and land use of upstream plantations. Tyre and automotive companies using natural rubber increasingly need to integrate geographic data on raw material sourcing, supplier evidence and risk assessment data; the essence of EUDR compliance is not obtaining certification, but the ability to trace, as data, where raw materials were produced and through which channels they were procured.
