Overview

These requirements mandate minimum collection rates for end-of-life vehicles and minimum resource recovery rates by material type (metal, plastic, glass, and others), aimed at improving vehicle recycling efficiency. Mandatory targets for the use of recycled plastic in new vehicles are also under consideration.

Enforcement Timeline

From 2026: New phased targets for vehicle collection rates and recycling rates are finalized as the new regulation takes effect.
